PlayStation 5 Users Call On Sony To Bring Back Basic PS4 Feature

PlayStation 5 Users Call On Sony To Bring Back Basic PS4 Feature

The PS5 could be that little bit better with one small change

Sony fans are growing a little disgruntled with one feature from the PlayStation 4 that has not yet made it to PlayStation 5. Is it games? Nope, not games. How about hardware? Not hardware either, actually. It's in fact entirely visual and aesthetics - it's the lack of PlayStation 5 themes.

On Reddit, one PS5 owner has taken to the PlayStation subreddit to complain about the lack of themes. In-Grey posted a picture of what they see every time they turn on their console, and yeah honestly it's a little... busy for my tastes too. They say: "I love my PS5, but I absolutely hate that they removed themes and instead THIS is what greets me whenever I turn on my console. Please Sony....please. bring back themes". And others agree.

Some like RandyMuscle are reminiscing about the old themes they miss like Persona 5 or perhaps like xXBurniXx you'd want to see the return of the news page rather than the explore page. Sgt_Backpack in turn says: "Absolutely. Forced advertisement never works for me. I regularly paid for themes on PS4 and I'd be happy to do it again on the 5. They could probably make some real pretty ones too."

And you know what, although aesthetics aren't everything, especially on a menu, PlayStation has really pushed the sense that there is more to do with the console outside of the games you already have on it. That mean's it's showing you DLCs, or in the case of In-Grey's post, the Balenciaga collaboration for Fortnite. And if you're not into fashion or Fortnite why should you have to look at something that is an advertisement when you could, in theory, just have your background look nice. If we're in the shopping section of the PS5, fine, but if you're just booting up, it could be a little obnoxious, I agree.
