Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street is lining up the next major turn of events in the Corey Brent storyline following the recent trial verdict.

Earlier this month, Corey was found innocent of the murder of Seb Franklin, while Kelly Neelan was found guilty – despite the fact that Corey was the one that actually attacked Seb while Kelly tried to hold him back.

With the street in shock over the unjust verdict, it looks like Seb's mother Abi will be taking matters into her own hands, with potentially violent consequences.

In new on-set pictures from scenes being filmed currently, Abi is seen waiting outside Corey's luxury home.

As she spots her son's killer taking out the trash, she takes a gun out of her handbag. However, Corey gets a somewhat lucky escape as the police turn up to speak to him, scaring Abi off in the process.

Will she get her revenge on Corey another day?

Meanwhile, Kelly is set to return to court next week for her sentencing, though Imran Habeeb begs the judge to consider her troubled upbringing and fragile mental health in the decision.

Imran is also set to evade questions from Toyah Battersby after learning he was lying about spending the night in the office after the trial verdict, discovering he spent it with ex Sabeen.

Toyah learns from both that nothing happened between them – though Sabeen is aware Imran isn't telling the full story, knowing that he didn't spend the whole night with her. What else isn't he telling them?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
