Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young went back to revisit his alma mater, Oklahoma University. He was not there to watch basketball, but he went back to watch a football game. When he waved to the crowd, he received huge amounts of love and support from the arena.

Young was born in Lubbock, Texas, and went to university in Norman, just under 300 miles away. Despite spending only a single season there, Young has developed a really close affinity with OU and this can be seen by the number of times that he revisits it.

Now that Young plays in Atlanta, more than 850 miles away from Norman, which means that, despite the number of times he attends, Young does not get back there as much as he would like now. However, the fact that Young goes back as often as he does shows the character of the man.

Atlanta Hawks star point guard Trae Young is loyal to the core.

Young has received a bad rap that he is very selfish, that he does what he does for the betterment of his numbers as opposed to the betterment of the team. This is unfair and this narrative will keep on changing as he continues to win.

Young also received his rookie-max extension this offseason. The good thing for the Hawks is that he could not have got the same money if he had gone to another team but it feels like that did not matter to Young. The Hawks took a chance on him in the draft, so he wants to see them succeed with him running the point.

Young has grown so much as a player and as a person. At just 22 years old he is one of 30 starting point guards in the toughest leagues in the world. Not just that, he is rated as the fourth-best in the entire league. He could have gone anywhere but he seems to believe in the Hawks and is a huge reason for their success last season.

The Hawks have put their faith and their future in the hands of Young. Judging by the way he keeps coming back to his alma mater, they have secured their long-term success due to his loyalty. Young is the future of this franchise and he will continue to be loved by the fans the same way he is at OU.
