A two-vehicle collision resulted in injuries in Washington Saturday.

At 8:01 a.m. the Washington County Communications Center received a report of a collision on East 7th Street and North 12th Avenue with one person trapped and another possibly unconscious. Washington Police Chief Jim Lester says Clifford Leeper of Washington was driving a 2000 Ford Ranger pickup eastbound on East 7th when he failed to obey a stop sign and was T-boned by a northbound 2008 Chevy Silverado pickup driven by Rickie Hofer of Washington. Washington County Ambulance Service transported one person to Washington County Hospital and Clinics and another to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and one person was transported by private vehicle to Washington County Hospital and Clinics. The city streets department was notified to replace a damaged stop sign. Both vehicles were towed and Leeper was cited for failure to obey stop sign and yield right of way. Washington Fire, EMS, and Police departments, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Washington County Rescue also responded to the scene.
