The Georgia Southern football team looks to shake off a rough start to the 2021 season when they open Sun Belt Conference play later this week.
The Eagles (1-2) will host Louisiana this Saturday at 6:05 p.m. at Paulson Stadium in Statesboro.
Louisiana (2-1) leads the all-time series with Georgia Southern 3-1 after a last-second 20-18 win last year in Lafayette. Nate Snyder hit a 53-yard field goal at the buzzer to win it for the Ragin' Cajuns.
Saturday's contest will mark the third straight year Georgia Southern has opened SBC play against Louisiana.
The Eagles enter Saturday's game looking for a win and answers to some early season woes.
In back to back losses to Florida Atlantic and No. 18 Arkansas, Georgia Southern has been outscored 83-16.
The Eagles have also struggled taking flight in the second half of games this season. In three games, Georgia Southern has been outscored 68-10 after halftime.
Saturday's game is the first of two straight Sun Belt contests in Statesboro. The Eagles will host Arkansas State on Saturday, October 2 at 4 p.m.
