Pleasantville’s volleyball squad will go back home for a home triangular, while the cross country squads will travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont for their next meet.

The Trojans’ volleyball squad comes into the triangular with a 9-6 record overall and 2-2 in West Central Conference play. Pleasantville went 4-2 last weekend at the North Mahaska tournament, beating the host, Tri-County, and Lynnville-Sully twice. The Trojans lost their final two matches of the tournament to Sigourney and PCM. In this triangular, Pleasantville will take on West Central Conference foe Ogden and Grand View Christian. Coach Joel Allman tells KNIA Sports that he believes his team is becoming more consistent with each match.

“I would say we are starting to just get a little bit more consistent each match that we play. We are starting to figure out things that the girls do really well. For each girl, which individual strength and we have switched our lineup up a little bit and I think it has really highlighted a lot of our girls’ strengths and things that they do well.”

The triangular at home will begin at 5:00 PM.

The Trojans’ cross country squads will be at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High School for their next meet. Pleasantville’s boys finished sixth while the girls finished tenth in their last meet at home. The boys’ top runner in the last meet was Devon Luing, finishing 14th overall with a time of 19:12. The girls’ top runner in the last meet was Kyleigh McConnell, who finished 34th overall with a time of 25:01. Pleasantville will compete with a few familiar teams including Wayne, Southeast Warren, Melcher-Dallas, and Clarke.

The cross country meet at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont will begin at 5:00 PM.
