Medina road re-opens after train derailment

MEDINA, Ohio (WOIO) - West Liberty Street re-opened Tuesday afternoon hours after a train loaded with rocks derailed.

Medina police said the derailment happened around 6:30 a.m. and completely blocked West Liberty Street at Medina Street.

Crews cleaned up the scene and re-opened the road around 12:30 p.m.

A train carrying a load of rocks derailed in Medina. Police say they except West Liberty Road to be closed throughout the morning. 19 News has an update from the scene.
