The Atlanta Hawks will start training camp on the 28th of September and there are so many storylines that Hawks faithful to follow. It is certainly going to be exciting for the fans to see their new players and how their games complement the established Hawks players.

They have added rookies Jalen Johnson, Sharife Cooper. A.J. Lawson, and Johnny Hamilton. They also signed Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Jahlil Okafor to non-guaranteed deals. With Skylar Mays and Cooper signed to two-way deals, this leaves the other four fighting for the final roster spot.

On top of that, the Hawks signed Gorgui Dieng and traded for Delon Wright. Both are going to be fighting for playing time. Every single minute on the floor in front of a coach is a chance to impress them, which is a chance to garner more court time. Dieng is still in good shape after being named to the AfroBasket All-Tournament Team.

The Atlanta Hawks also have De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish coming back

One of the beauties of having an injury-plagued season is that you get those injured players back. They have usually already played with their teammates so it is just fine-tuning. De’Andre Hunter had surgery on his knee before the playoffs and will need to work back in slowly.

Cam Reddish came back at the end of last season but has only had a few games under the tutelage of head coach Nate McMillan. When training camp opens, the defensive-minded wing will be excited to work with Dieng, Wright, and Kevin Huerter to form a defensive bond in the second unit.
