CD Projekt Red Is Hiring For A New Open-World RPG

CD Projekt Red Is Hiring For A New Open-World RPG

But what is it exactly hiring for?

It looks like CD Projekt RED is hopping back on the developer horse as it's beginning to hire for what looks like a new open-world role-playing game. The company website now features an "Open World Designer (Junior/Specialist)" role that the developer is advertising for which at least suggests that they're looking to create new environments for an upcoming project.

On the CD Projekt Red site, you can check out what it takes to work for one of the biggest game devs out there. First, it requires candidates to relocate to Cracow (relocation packages and foreign language lessons included) though you must already be fluent in English. The page also says candidates must also have experience modding games, a passion for playing games, communication skills, creativity, visual aesthetic, and strong critical and analytical thinking. Those are all the requirements for a junior position.

The release of Cyberpunk 2077 was a bit of a mess...

If you want to aim for the specialist position, you must have at least two years of experience in an open-world designer, or mission role at a triple-A studio. Seems fair enough, right?

CD Projekt doesn't exactly explain what this project is for, it doesn't reveal if it's working on something Cyberpunk 2077 related or if it's more Witcher-y but it does describe itself as a company, and its aims.

"Our mission is this: we want to deliver bleeding edge, mature role-playing games with a deep focus on storytelling, and we want to wrap them in an honest, good value for money package gamers find worth their hard-earned cash. We'd love all games and gamers to be treated like that, and we're working hard every day to make that happen."

If you're interested in applying, you can submit your application here. After what the studio experienced with the release of Cyberpunk 2077, I feel like we can be sure that the developer's next release will put an incredible amount of care and effort into making its RPGs the envy of the development world once again.
