Baltimore County police face a $25 million lawsuit after a couple says they were mentally and physically abused during an arrest. It's a confrontation caught on cell phone camera.
The incident unfolded on East Overlea Avenue near Bel Air Road in April.
Wanda Redd and James Como say they had just walked to their car after a family gathering nearby. Then a call went out to police, a man reportedly grabbing a woman and dragging her on the ground.
But Redd says that never happened. She says the only punch she got that night was from an officer.
The couple has now filed a $25 million lawsuit against the department for alleged mental and physical abuse.
"He punched me in my face with a closed fist. He reached for his gun or the taser, one of them. It was dark, but I seen him reach on his hip,” said Redd.
"I was trying to tell him, why are you being so aggressive? We have done nothing wrong, we hadn't done nothing wrong to be treated like that,” said Como.
Police arrested Como and Redd for failing to obey a lawful order and disturbing the peace. Como also faces assault charges.
Meanwhile, police say the incident remains under administrative review.
