According to NFL Insider Howard Balzer, the Indianapolis Colts worked out four tryout players on Monday: offensive tackle Derwin Gray, wide receiver Anthony Johnson, safety Ronnell Perkins, and tight end David Wells:

Here’s the scoop on each of these four tryout players:

OT Derwin Gray: Originally a 2019 7th round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the 6’5”, 320 pound offensive tackle has also had NFL stops with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans (on the latter’s practice squad). Gray appeared in 5 games for the Steelers in 2020.

WR Anthony Johnson: Initially signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2019, the 6’2”, 220 pound wideout has also had pro stops with the Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squads respectively. Johnson has yet to appear in an NFL game.

S Ronnell Perkins: Perkins signed with the San Francisco 49ers following the 2020 NFL Draft. He was a 2016 SEC-All Freshman-Team member and played in 12 games for the Mizzou Tigers last season—as a key contributor in their secondary. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.

TE David Wells: Wells began his career with the Dallas Cowboys, having signed as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2018. The 6’6”, 260 pound tight end (with 32 14 in. arms) has since had league stints with the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, and Atlanta Falcons. He has not appeared in an NFL game to begin his pro career.
