Fayetteville neighbors saw water flood their streets Monday evening.
It happened when a water main break sent waters gushing out in the area of E Sharon street and Katherine avenue.
Fayetteville police said on facebook the repairs could last into early Tuesday morning.
A video shared with 40/29 News showed the waters flowing down the streets as neighbors watched.
"It turned into a neighborhood meet and greet and everyone is offering to help each other which is friendly." Clint Schnekloth said.
The city released a statement on the break saying in part, "City water crews have isolated the broken line and are working to repair it. City water tanks are currently stabilizing, which may cause some residents to experience temporarily low water pressure and air in home water lines.
Residents who experience low water pressure or air in their water lines are advised that water is safe for consumption, and no Boil Water Order notice will be necessary.
Residents who currently do not have water in the Sharon St. and Pine Ave. area will be contacted directly by City of Fayetteville should a Boil Water Notice become necessary."
