WORCESTER — The Worcester Railers will host the Maine Mariners in a preseason game to benefit Fitchburg native Jake Thibeault, who suffered a serious spinal cord injury earlier this month while playing in a hockey game.
The game is set for 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center.
No admission is being charged, but contributions of $10 per person is encouraged, to benefit Thibeault, a former member of the Junior Railers Hockey Club.
The Railers will travel to Maine for an exhibition game the day before against the Mariners, at 7 p.m. at The Colisée in Lewiston.
The teams also open the regular season Oct. 23 at the DCU Center.
