Railers to host exhibition to benefit injured Fitchburg hockey player Jake Thibeault

Contributions of $10 are encouraged at Oct. 16 game vs. Maine Mariners at Fidelily Bank Worcester Ice Center

WORCESTER — The Worcester Railers will host the Maine Mariners in a preseason game to benefit Fitchburg native Jake Thibeault, who suffered a serious spinal cord injury earlier this month while playing in a hockey game.

The Worcester Railers are hosting an exhibition game to benefit Fitchburg native Jake Thibeault, the former Worcester Junior Railer who suffered a serious spinal cord injury playing in a hockey game earlier this month.

The game is set for 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center.

No admission is being charged, but contributions of $10 per person is encouraged, to benefit Thibeault, a former member of the Junior Railers Hockey Club. 

The Railers will travel to Maine for an exhibition game the day before against the Mariners, at 7 p.m. at The Colisée in Lewiston.  

The teams also open the regular season Oct. 23 at the DCU Center.
