Young Dayton art teacher dies of coronavirus, academy closes in observance of funeral

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- A funeral service for Kaylee Nicole Dabe is being held Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021. According to an obituary, the 25-year-old Dabe had a love of arts and was just starting her career as an art teacher at the Montgomery Preparatory Academy on Smithville Rd. She died on Sept. 13, 2021 at the Greene Memorial Hospital from COVID-19.
Dabe was a graduate of Xenia High School and received her Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts from Wright State University. The Montgomery Preparatory Academy said the school will be closed Tuesday in observance of her funeral. Her services will be held Tuesday at the Valley View Memorial Gardens.
