Police officer released from hospital following cruiser crash in Methuen

METHUEN, Mass. — A Methuen Police officer was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a car crashed into the side of his police cruiser Monday morning, sending it across the road and into a nearby telephone pole. That crash occurred on Jackson Street in the city around 8 a.m. Monday.

That officer, identified as Officer Brady Abraham, was responding to a call at the time of the crash. According to Methuen Police, Officer Abraham was traveling south on Jackson Street when a 2007 Acura, which had stopped while also heading south on that roadway, turned left into the cruiser as it attempted to go around the Acura. The cruiser, as a result, was pushed across the other side of the road and into a telephone pole on the sidewalk.

Both Officer Abraham and the driver of the Acura, identified only as a female, were transported to Lawrence General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both have been released.
