Auburn football fans were already not thrilled about the announcement that they’d be playing LSU in Death Valley at 8pm central time on October 2nd.

Then Twitter user @TheAuburner hit the Auburn family with a hard dose of reality on a post-Penn State loss Monday.

As he points out, several in-state Group of Five programs have won more recently at Tiger Stadium than Auburn football.

Per his (Mark’s) Twitter page:

Troy upset LSU 24-21 in 2017 when the Tigers were ranked #18. UAB, on the other hand, won 13-10 back in 2000 in their first win over an SEC opponent.

Of course, Auburn last won in Baton Rouge back when the Y2K scare was a thing.

In turn this stat upset unsuspecting fans not ready for to hear those sorts of things during Georgia State hate week:

The #23 Tigers should still be ranked heading into the LSU matchup, with a potential trap game against Georgia State needed to get out of the way first.

That said, it will be an uphill climb for Auburn football after that, with LSU in Death Valley, Georgia at home, and Arkansas on the road heading into their bye week.
