Tim McGraw Reacts to TikTok Singer Alexandra Kay’s Cover of ‘Don’t Take The Girl’

Tim McGraw has been active on TikTok recently, mostly singing his own covers and reacting to covers of his songs recorded by other artists. Last week, he was particularly impressed by a cover of “Don’t Take The Girl” by Alexandra Kay. The singer, who boasts more than 2 million followers, often posts “coffee covers,” or videos of herself singing while preparing her morning coffee, and she did just that for her Tim McGraw cover video.

McGraw posted a duet of Kay’s video which shows him live reacting to her voice and he was clearly affected by her ability. McGraw reacted to the video while drinking his own coffee in his kitchen, and if his face wasn’t enough to gauge his reaction, he added captions to the video like, “I love her voice!” and “Dang, girl!” McGraw continued watching, eventually saying, “Okay, somebody needs to sign this girl to a record deal.”

Alexandra Kay responded to McGraw’s kind words, commenting, “Okay..what is happening!? @TimMcGraw thank you so much! Let’s make a cup together soon!?” Kay also responded by posting a duet of McGraw’s duet of her original video, showing her excitement and singing along.

“so this has been the crazies 24hrs ever! Thank you Tim!” wrote Kay.

Other tunes Kay has covered on her TikTok include Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats,” Maddie & Tae’s “Die From A Broken Heart,” and more. She often collaborates with fellow TikTok star Cooper Alan and has been touring with Alan and Thomas Mac. Alexandra Kay isn’t he only upcoming artist McGraw has featured on his TikTok account. He recently posted a sing-along between himself and an artist named Brandon Davis and he reacted to a cappella group The Trills singing “Live Like You Were Dying,” among others.
