NYC woman, 35, found dead by teen daughter — cops eyeing boyfriend

A 35-year-old woman was found dead by her 14-year-old daughter early Monday in the Bronx — and investigators are now eyeing the woman’s boyfriend, according to cops and police sources.

The teen found her mother, Belkis Lopez, inside a bedroom — with a rubber band around her neck — in the home on East 158th Street near Melrose Avenue in Melrose around 8 a.m., authorities said.

It was unclear whether the teen or someone else called 911.

EMS responded and pronounced Lopez dead on scene.

The boyfriend was at the home when the teen last saw her mom alive around 1 a.m. but he had left by the time she was found dead, police sources said.

Two other children, 3 and 5, were in the home at the time but unharmed, the sources said.
