Jazz great Vince Giordano and his Traditional Jazz Ensemble perform live with special guests at a Roaring Twenties Lawn Party at Weston Historical Society on Saturday, September 25 from 2:00 to 6:00.

You may recognize Mr. Giordano, a mainstay of the New York nightclub scene, from his appearances in movies like The Cotton Club, The Aviator, Finding Forrester, Revolutionary Road, Cafe Society, and HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.

His concerts at New York City’s Town Hall, Lincoln Center, the 92nd Street Y and the Newport Jazz Festival consistently draw raves. He has recorded with legendary vocalists including Elvis Costello, Patti Smith, St. Vincent, Regina Spektor, Neko Case, Leon Redbone, David Johansen, Liza Minnelli, Catherine Russell, and Rufus Wainwright.

Special guests

On the 25th, you will also enjoy Miss Maybell & The Jazz Age Artistes, a trio of some of New York City’s hottest and coolest traditional jazz, blues, and ragtime players. Bandleader and vocalist Miss Maybell is accompanied by Brian Nalepka on string bass and Charlie Judkins on piano. The group has made a name for itself in high-end Manhattan super clubs, luxury hotels, and on the Bohemian scene in Brooklyn.

Also on stage at the Historical Society’s Roaring Twenties Lawn Party: Jerron Paxton, who tours the world most of the year as one of the few soloists of African American roots music.

About the event
