Yankees left-hander Nestor Cortes will take a 2-2 record and 2.60 ERA into his start against the Rangers on Monday night at Yankee Stadium.

NEW YORK — It’s close to do-or-die time for the Yankees, who are out of a Wild-Card playoff spot heading into Monday night’s series opener against the Texas Rangers.

First pitch at Yankee Stadium is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

The Yankees’ blowout losses at home to the Cleveland Indians on Saturday and Sunday left them 1 ½ games behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the second Wild Card.

The Yankees’ lineup includes Joey Gallo, who is starting in left after sitting out Sunday’s game due to a sore neck. Also, Gary Sanchez is back at catcher after not playing on Sunday and making some poor defensive miscues in the last week and a half.

The pitching matchup for Monday’s game has Yankees left-hander Nestor Cortes (2-2, 2.60) facing Rangers rookie right-hander A.J. Alexy (2-0, 3.68).
