NBA Rumors: The Golden State Warriors are interested in Isaiah Thomas.
Just a few years ago, Isaiah Thomas was one of the biggest stars in the NBA. He had helped the Boston Celtics make the jump back to relevance, had the team playing like a contender in the Eastern Conference, was in the MVP conversation, and was on the verge of a big payday.
After an unfortunate hip injury during the 2016-17 NBA season, however, Thomas was never the same. He was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers (in the Kyrie Irving deal), never got that big payday that many assumed he’d be in line for and has bounced around sparingly since.
However, he’s looking to make another attempt to return to the NBA. And the word is that he’s finally healthy and ready to play a role for a contender.
According to a recent report, Thomas has received “sincere” interest from the Golden State Warriors, a team that is looking to fill out its roster ahead of the start of training camp.
Also told Warriors have sincere interest in @isaiahthomas, sources said. The injury plagued two-time NBA All-Star told @TheUndefeated he is "fully healthy now and can do everything I used to do and more." Thomas says he physically better now than in 2017 and is dunking again.

This report isn’t exactly surprising, especially if Thomas is looking healthier than ever. Even if Thomas only emerges as a spark off the bench, he’d be worth the signing for a team such as the Warriors.
Golden State is looking to add talent wherever they can get it at this point, in an attempt to make a return to relevancy in the Western Conference. I’m not sure if Thomas is the piece that gets them there, but he’d be an interesting training camp invitee.
Thomas appeared in only three games last year for the New Orleans Pelicans and in 40 games during the 2019-20 NBA season with the Washington Wizards. It’s hard not to root for a player like Thomas.

He’s been doubted at every turn due to his size and now because of his recent injury history. Thomas signing with the Warriors – and then rooting for him all season long – would be quite the story.
