Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Nelson Cruz is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Detroit Tigers.
Cruz will move to the bench on Friday with Austin Meadows filling the designated hitter role. Meadows will bat fourth versus right-hander Casey Mize and the Tigers.
