A home on Detroit's Eastside was damaged after a car crashed right into the front of the house.

According to FOX 2, a 33-year-old woman was arrested after crashing into a Detroit home at Chalmers and Scripps around 6 p.m. on Friday (September 17).

Detroit police say the woman was driving a black 2011 Honda Accord when the accident occurred. She was speeding through the Detroit neighborhood when her car plowed through the front of the home. The car went straight through the home and ended up dangling from the back of the house.

The 63-year-old homeowner was inside the house at the time of the crash. Luckily, he was not injured. However, the woman driving the car was taken to the hospital for her injuries. Police say she has been released from the hospital and is expected to recover.

According to police, they believe that alcohol was also a factor in the crash.

In the video below from FOX 2, you can see the destruction the car caused to the house. There is a huge gaping hole in the front of the home, and from the back of the house, the vehicle is seen dangling with piles of brick and debris around it.

The investigation is still ongoing.
