Paul Pogba has made one of the best starts to a season of his Manchester United career but the club are already preparing for a possible future without him and have identified AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie as a potential replacement.
Pogba has less than a year left on his contract and although reports emerged last week that he could yet be convinced to stay at Old Trafford following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, there is still a serious prospect the Frenchman could leave for free.
Kessie, 24, is an attractive option for United as he too has run down his contract and would be available for nothing should Pogba leave for Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid or Juventus next summer without a transfer fee.
