Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church will host a “Blessing of the Animals” at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021. This service has become an annual tradition at Cherry Hill, located at 24100 Cherry Hill Road in Dearborn

“The Blessing of the Animals” commemorates the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, who was a great lover and protector of all God’s creatures, great and small.

All two- and four-footed, furry and feathery, crated or leashed friends are welcome. If you are unable to bring your pet, you may bring a photograph.

A free-will offering will be received to benefit the Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit in Dearborn. The shelter cares for more than 3,000 animals a year. “Our offering is an additional way for us to share our care and concern for these special friends,” said Reverend Mark Phillips, pastor of Cherry Hill Presbyterian.
