Chicago Bears quarterback Andy Dalton left Sunday's game early with an apparent injury but it was expected that it wasn't serious. Well, the MRI results have now come back and it appears Dalton has simply a bone bruise:

As Rapoport noted, it's unknown if the Bears QB will be available for Week 3. However, head coach Matt Nagy has made it clear that Dalton is still the starter, despite having doubts on Sunday.

Justin Fields came in and held his own for Chicago, completing 6 of 13 passes for 60 yards. However, he did throw an interception and was sacked twice. It could've definitely been a better performance but Fields still proved that he's capable.

Dalton, on the other hand, threw for one touchdown on nine completed passes before exiting. There's definitely the chance that Fields will get to start this week for the Bears because a bone bruise doesn't usually heal this quickly. That opportunity could be massive for the former Ohio State standout if he can shine. If so, Nagy is definitely going to have a tougher job sticking with Dalton if the rookie shows well.

Bears fans have already pleaded for Nagy to hand Fields the keys as QB1. But, it doesn't look like that is going to happen right now. In the future though, it's definitely a possibility.
