A rural Perry man was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Friday after allegedly assaulting his adult son in their home.

Rocy Roy Kirk, 54, of 20652 150th St., Perry, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident occurred Sept. 14 about 8:15 p.m. in the 20600 block of 150th Street in rural Perry, where “a verbal exchange” in the victim’s bedroom was followed by Kirk’s allegedly “punching” the victim “in the face,” according to court records.

Kirk allegedly admitted that he struck the victim but said “it was not by punching but ‘upside the head’ and outside in the shed and not in the bedroom,” according to court records.

Kirk was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to posting a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a hearing Oct. 1 in Dallas County District Court.
