Syracuse football will kickoff at 3:30 versus Florida State

Afternoon kickoff!

NCAA Football: Syracuse at Florida State Glenn Beil-USA TODAY Sports

The Syracuse Orange are going to open their ACC Schedule on the road against the Florida State Seminoles. While we knew the game would be on October 2 in Tallahassee, FL, we did not know the kickoff or television status of the game, until now.

The Orange and ‘Noles will kickoff at 3:30 PM ET with the game being aired on the ACC Network (sorry Comcast folks). Last year, the Orange did not play Florida State, the first time the two avoided each other since ‘Cuse joined the conference.

The last time the two teams played in Doak Campbell Stadium, the ‘Noles defeated the Orange 35-17 as Cam Akers ran wild. The last time ‘Cuse was able to defeat Florida State was in 2018 when the ‘Noles lost in the Carrier Dome 30-7. In fact, the Orange have only 2 wins against the Florida State program all-time (2018 & 1966), both taking place in Syracuse. Dino Babers will attempt to become the first Orange coach to defeat Florida State twice and to get a victory in Tallahassee, FL.

Regardless, it’s nice to have a game that won’t kick off at noon, and it will be interesting to see how the Orange come out for this one after getting facing off against Liberty this week. Hopefully, Taj Harris and Chris Elmore are both back in the starting offense by this game, and Dakota Davis is back to full strength to solidify the offensive line. We’ll know more about all three this Saturday when the Orange play the Flames on Friday night.
