Flood watch: Hamilton County crews work Monday to keep streets open

Here's a list of roads closed in the Chattanooga area as of 3:15 p.m. Monday:
- Davidson Road at Gunbarrel is closed due to flooding. The automatic flood protection gates and lights are down, DO NOT GO AROUND THE GATES EVEN IF THE ROAD LOOKS CLEAR. THE ROAD MUST BE INSPECTED PRIOR TO REOPENING.
- N Crest Road at Ocoee Street
- Northmont Road at Sandswitch Road
- Brainerd Road at Seminole Drive
- 4200 Byrnwood Village
- 500 Dodds Ave
- N Concord at Igou Gap

The Tennessee Valley is getting pounded with another round of rain and it shows.
In Chattanooga, Ricky Colston who is the Director of Citywide services says crews have their work cut out for them.
They’re keeping a close eye on more than 220 hotspots throughout the city.
"We’re checking all of our hot spots and cleaning spaces as they go down the streets," said Colston.
Over then weekend, Colston says soggy grounds sent 23 trees tumbling.
On top of clearing culverts, they’re also moving that lumber out of the road.
"Rushing water can move a car in a matter of seconds," said Colston.
In total, Colston says eight crews with the city are out Monday in case things take a turn.
