Katie-Rose Watson's food blog, The Rose Table, has garnered nearly 200,000 followers across Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram.
Katie-Rose Watson didn't learn to cook until college, hosting her first party at her TCU dorm with nothing more than a cutting board and microwave.
Let's just say she's learned a few things since then. A food blog and nearly 200,000 followers later, Watson is getting ready for the release of her first cookbook.
Watson — the face behind The Rose Table, a blog that has amassed more than 68,000 followers on TikTok and thousands more on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube — has announced her cookbook of the same name, published by HP Custom Content. "The Rose Table" features 70 recipes, including entrées like roasted chicken and ratatouille, plus desserts like Chocolate Lavender Dream Cake.
“This cookbook is a collection of my go-to recipes that I’ve been making for years and years, recipes you’ll want in your weekly rotation, and recipes that you can trust to turn out perfectly for company,” Watson said in a statement. “It’s a collection of some of my all-time favorite recipes.”
Watson launched The Rose Table from her home in Fort Worth in 2014 before eventually moving to Dallas (but we'll forgive her for that). While The Rose Table's recipes run the gamut, taking inspiration from cuisines around the globe, Watson is perhaps best known for her Disney Dinners — a series for which she creates menus inspired by movies like "101 Dalmatians," "Mulan," and "Maleficent" and films the dinner party for her social platforms. She's done paid partnerships with Disney, as well as other companies like Brawny, Mrs. Meyers Clean Day, and more.
Not bad for a side hustle that Watson runs alongside her day job as an independent publicist. She graduated from TCU in 2011 with degrees in German and classical studies — and in the meantime developed her passion for cooking, with plans to publish more books with HP Custom Content in the future.
"We are very excited to partner with Katie-Rose and The Rose Table [to] launch their first-ever cookbook," Nigel Watson, new business incubation director for HP Inc., said in a statement. "She has built great content and community, and we’re looking forward to bringing it to life in a customized, physical product."
While the book doesn't officially release until Sept. 27, "The Rose Table" is available for pre-order here.
