Syracuse reveals week four depth chart against Liberty

A home game on a Friday night and there are some changes afoot.

The Syracuse Orange took care of business this week against the Albany Great Danes. The coaching staff got to see a few different looks from the squad and the Orange are now on to face the Liberty Flames this Friday night in the “Stadium.” We now know who will supposedly be seen on said field, with the release of the weekly two(ish)-deep.

First things first, not that you expected change, but Tommy DeVito is still listed as the starter at quarterback. I say it, not because I thought there was a chance, but because there still seem to be people who think it’s worth discussing.

Sticking through the offense, Abdul Adams has garnered another “OR” consideration at running back. Which seems excessive, though any of the three listed behind Sean Tucker, Adams, Cooper Lutz and Jarveon Howard, are capable backs in their own right. We’ll have to see how carries get shared moving forward.

Luke Benson, who left the game with a lower body injury and was on the sideline in street clothes and crutches is still listed as the starter at TE, with no sign of the return of the Rhino, Chris Elmore, on the chart. I would think this would be a great week for him to come back.

On the offensive line, it looks as though Carlos Vettorello and Airon Servais have again swapped roles, with Servais coming back inside and Vettorello moving to tackle. So continues the musical chairs that we saw on the line during the Albany game.

The final swap seems to be sides of the field for backup corners Adrian Cole and Neil Nunn. This makes sense on paper, as Cole was the one coming in for Garrett Williams last week while he was out with injury.
