Well, that joyride didn't last long.

A blue 2022 Toyota Tundra that was swiped from a Kennewick convenience store Friday was recovered over the weekend, thanks to a sharp-eyed citizen who reported seeing it.

Friday, around 9:10 AM a convenience store worker was able to ID the youthful-looking male who hopped inside the vehicle while it was parked in front of the store.

They sped off, but not before the clerk and others saw him enter. Police were able to get a very clean shot of the suspect, whose ID has not been released.

Over the weekend, a citizen called to report seeing the distinctive truck and Police were able to recover it.

No report if any damage to the vehicle, but it's back with it's the rightful owner and the suspect is facing auto theft charges.

Once again, Kennewick Police (and other LE agencies) thank citizens for keeping an eye out for such perps.
