Friday, the Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars took a roadtrip to Sandersville to take on the Brentwood School Eagles. Despite a hard fight, the Jags suffered their first loss of the season 41-20 ending their 4-0 winning streak.

The first half opened with Brentwood scoring on their second play of the game.

The Jags answered during the next drive with John John Durden running the ball for a TJA touchdown. Gabe Hendricks kicked the extra point, tying the game at 7-7.

The Eagles tackled a Jaguar runner in his own endzone that same quarter, putting two more points on the board for Brentwood. The Eagles finished the first quarter with one final touchdown, pushing their lead to 7-23. Brentwood also scored the lone touchdown of the second quarter, putting the score at 7-29 at the half.

The Eagles rode their momentum into the second half, scoring again but missed the PAT.

Soon after, Cam Beasely connected with Brinson Evans on a pass for a 34-yard Jaguar touchdown.

The Eagles scored once again in the third quarter, bringing the score at the end of it 13-35.

In the final quarter of the game, Brentwood scored one more time. The Jags also put points on the board one last time, with Evans running for the final touchdown of the night, followed by a good extra point from Hendricks.

The Jaguars will host Central Fellowship Academy back at Battle Field this week.
