The View has entered its third week of guest co-hosts, starting with politician and businesswoman Carly Fiorina. The former Republican presidential candidate kicked off her brief stint as guest co-host by tearing into the state of the Republican Party following former President Trump’s White House exit and the January Capitol riots.

“Way back in 2015, I was saying Trump lacked both character and competence. Sadly, I was right,” Fiorina said. “What we didn’t understand at the time was how dangerous this combination would become. Unless [the Republican Party] dumps Trump, this party is not a party I can feel proud of.”

“I personally am horrified by what the term ‘conservative’ has come to mean,” she continued. “I think people need to speak up. But I agree: Right now, it’s not looking too good.”

Meanwhile, host Sara Haines wondered if getting rid of Trump would be enough, since Americans have since seen plenty of conservative politicians eager to “leap into his place.”

Fiorina pointed out that Republican and Democratic platforms haven’t always been so divided — in 2006, for example, President George W. Bush signed a voting rights extension into being with virtually no opposition.

“Frankly, we need more of the few and less of politics as usual. When I go out there and talk to people, most Americans are sick of the toxicity,” Fiorina said. “Most Americans don’t agree on everything, but they agree on the most important things. And I think if we can get back to problem solving and progress, and away from politics as it’s become, citizens can be a lot happier.”

In the meantime, the ladies of The View will continue sharing their own takes with an array of conservative guest co-hosts filling Meghan McCain’s seat, including Alyssa Farah, Condoleezza Rice, S.E. Cupp, Eboni K. Williams, Cameran Eubanks, and Gretchen Carlson.

And, surprise! During today’s broadcast, moderator Whoopi Goldberg announced that Vice President Kamala Harris will join the panel as a guest on Friday, Sept. 24, answering the hosts’ pressing questions.

The View airs weekdays on ABC at 11/10c.
