Can you believe Disney World’s 50th Anniversary is almost here?
Disney is celebrating by debuting new fireworks shows, special character costumes, decor all over the parks, and more. Now, we’ve got more info on the special 50th anniversary dining experience coming to California Grill!
Back in July, Disney announced that California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort would get a special dining experience, and now we know that the menu is switching to a prix fixe menu starting October 3rd.
The menu comes in three courses, where guests can choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert. On the appetizers list, you can choose from the California Grill Sushi Classics Trio, the Cascade Roll, the Lobster and Parsnip Bisque, the House-Made Artisinal-Style Duck A L’Orange Pizza, the Heirloom Apple Salad, or the Braised Beef Short Rib Wontons.
The selection of “Chef’s Journey” items includes 8 different choices for your entree. Two special anniversary-inspired selections are the Oak-Fired Filet of Beef and the Free-Range Plancha Seared Chicken. You can also try the Cioppino, the Black Grouper, the Pork Tenderloin, the Squash and Mushroom Ravioli, or the Rib-Eye Tomahawk Steak for two.
Finally, for dessert, there are 5 delicious dishes to choose from. The list includes the EARidescent Grand Marnier Souffle, the Valrhona Chocolate Torte, the Lavender Sugar Doughnuts, and the Chef’s Selection of California Cheeses. If you want to celebrate the 50th Anniversary in an extra special way, try out the Five Magical Bites, 50 Years in the Making — it includes honey, lemon, carrot, strawberry, and chocolate.
This meal will cost $89 per adult and $39 per child, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations become available on September 23rd.
We’ll continue to update you on the latest from the 50th anniversary celebrations in Disney World, so stay tuned for more!

I hope room service will have the goat cheese ravioli as an olive branch. 😭 I’m not impressed with this menu. It is too limited. We have 2 vegans in our party and they aren’t given any options on this menu. Come on, Disney! I also wonder about walk ups being able to visit the lounge area.

I’m very curious what’s happening with the lounge. Will it be available for walk up? Can you still enjoy a drink at the bar?
