Unvaccinated Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley and his teammate Reid Ferguson have both offered to buy tickets for fans to away games since the team is requiring proof of the injection for all spectators at Highmark Stadium.

The players told unvaccinated fans via social media last week that if they bought tickets to a road game, the players would pick up the tab.

Currently the Bills are one of four teams -- the Seattle Seahawks, Las Vegas Raiders and New Orleans Saints -- to play in stadiums where fans are required to submit proof of vaccination for entry. The requirement was put in place amid complaints about lax mask enforcement at the season opener on September 12.

While he has personally refused to get vaccinated, Beasley said last month that he's not for or against the injection, but rather he considers himself 'pro choice' and is opposed to any mandates.

It's unclear if Ferguson, the Bills' long snapper, is vaccinated.

The ticket offer came about last week when Twitter user Chris Hauquitz tweeted his disappointment at Beasley.

'@Bease11 sad day for me as a Buffalo fan. I was bringing my 10 year old daughter to her first game in December all the way from Albuquerque,' Hauquitz wrote. 'Already bought tickets. I won't get the shot so now I don't know what to do. I probably need to sell the tickets and find an away game.'

It got Beasley's attention.

'If you find an away game you are able to go to then I will buy the tickets for you guys,' Beasley responded. 'DM me names and every thing (sic) I'll figure out the best way to make it happen. Wish she could witness the mafia!'

Buffalo fans often refers to themselves as the Bills mafia.

Hauquitz, a father of five, told the Buffalo News that he had COVID-19 and believes he has the antibodies. He added he believes the vaccines were rushed to market and the information that is available 'seems to be one-sided.'

Using his Twitter account, @SnapFlow69, Ferguson had a similar exchange with a fan from Nebraska.

'Was so excited to see the @BuffaloBills play at home for the first time ever, especially being from Nebraska,' Jordan Larrington wrote on Twitter. 'But I guess the new rules for the stadium will keep me out. I guess I'll have to watch @SnapFlow69 from the parking lot if I even go to Buffalo now.'

'I hear you brother,' the long snapper responded. 'If you can find your way to an away game this year, tix are on me.'

The Bills play road games this season against fellow AFC East teams Miami, New York Jets and New England, as well as in Kansas City, Jacksonville, Tennessee and Tampa. They play in New Orleans in November, but vaccinations are mandated for Saints' home games.

Hauquitz told The Buffalo News that Beasley was working to get tickets for the Chiefs game.

The NFL and NFLPA released different rules for vaccinated and unvaccinated players in August

Due to the pandemic, the Bills largely played to an empty house in 2020 until 6,700 fans were permitted to attend a pair of playoff games at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, a suburb of Buffalo.

The COVID-19 vaccine has been a sore subject for the Bills and head coach Sean McDermott, who admitted in August that he's frustrated by his players' reluctance to get the injection.

While about 94 percent of league players have been vaccinated, according to the NFL, the Bills reportedly remain on the low-end of the spectrum, with only about 80 percent of the roster receiving the injection.

In particular, Beasley has been critical of different NFL rules for vaccinated and unvaccinated players.

The protocols for unvaccinated players remain largely the same as they were for everyone during the 2020 season. The difference now, since the release of several vaccines, is that players who have gotten the injections are free from certain testing, distancing, and mask protocols.

Unvaccinated players, however, will need to distance, wear masks, and get daily tests.

And, as Beasley and several unvaccinated teammates learned during training camp, they are also forced to quarantine for five days if they come into contact with a person who has tested positive.

While players are not required to be vaccinated, coaches and staffers who work directly with players are required to get the injection.
