FLORENCE, Ky. (WKRC) - Cirque Italia has returned to the Florence Mall, but this time with a brand new prison-themed performance.
“This is an all new, unique, immersive prison experience,” performer Steve Copeland said. “It’s more than just a circus. There is theater, sexy cabaret dancing, and I also do some unsexy dancing as well.”
Cirque Alcatraz follows the story of two best friends who are framed for murder.
“The audience follows our journey through the world’s most dangerous prison, featuring some of the world’s most dangerous and talented inmates,” Copeland said.
Cirque Alcatraz features aerial acts, stunts, illusions and comedy while guiding the audience through the narrative.
Because of adult language, acts of simulated violence, and suggestive dialogue and situations, the show is rated R and all children 13 and older must be accompanied by an adult.
“We are very excited for the people of the Tri-State area to see our show,” Copeland said. “This show is always evolving. In fact, several acts in our show are making their debut here in Florence.”
Cirque Alcatraz is in town until September 26.
