LAND O’ LAKES — A 25-year-old Tampa motorcycle rider died after the driver of a sport utility vehicle pulled into his path Sunday night on U.S. 41, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred at about 7:15 p.m. on U.S. 41, also known as Land O’ Lakes Boulevard, at Causeway Boulevard.

The SUV, driven by a 43-year-old Land O’ Lakes woman, was pulling onto U.S. 41 from a gas station to head north as the motorcycle was headed south on the highway, the Highway Patrol said. The motorcycle collided with the left side of the SUV.

The Tampa man died later at a hospital. The driver of the SUV received minor injuries.
