Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen didn’t have his best game in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins, despite his team winning in a 35-0 fashion.

Still, Allen did enough to reach one milestone in his career in a similar fashion as Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly.

In fact, Allen did the exact same thing as Kelly.

Against the Dolphins, Allen was 17-for-33 passing for 179 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. That yardage helped Allen surpass 10,000 career yards passing, according to NFL Research.

That happened to take place in Allen’s 45th career game.

In Kelly’s 45th career game, back in the season opener in 1989, Kelly was 25-for-40 passing with 265 passing yards and touchdown throw as well. That total also put Kelly over 10,000-career yards.

Yup, it took Allen and Kelly the exact same amount of games in the league to reach that milestone. Not a bad comparison for Allen to be in the same company of someone enshrined in Canton.

With his game Sunday, Allen has 10,156 passing yards to date. Kelly hit 10,036 in his career in his 45th game.

And as if that wasn’t enough of a similarity… where Kelly reached 10,000?

It came in a win… on the road, against Miami.
