Sam Poulin is excited and ready.
That was the message he had when discussing the upcoming season yesterday.
Poulin told Penguins team reporter Michele Crechiolo that he is looking forward to camp and is ready to take the next step, turning pro after playing four years of junior hockey.
When Poulin was asked about his opportunity to try and make the team, he said “I think they just want me to prove what I’m about.”
Poulin went on to say that if he’s going to make the team better, there’s a good chance he’s going to have a spot, and said that he’s ready.
Poulin on his opportunity: "I think they just want me to prove what I'm about. ... If I'm going to make their team better, I think there's a good chance I'm going to have a spot or whatever, but I just don't know what's going to happen. But I’m ready."

Poulin spent four years in the QMJHL, with a majority of that time spent playing for the Sherbrooke Phoenix, with more than 75 goals scored in his first three seasons with the team. Poulin was traded to Val-d’Or, scoring 8 goals and 17 assists in 25 games with the team this past year.
Poulin has been invited to Penguins training camp along with fellow prospects Nathan Legare and Filip Hallander.
