Brian Laundrie update – Cops say there is ‘possibility’ Gabby Petito’s missing fiancé hurt himself as search continues

FOLLOWING the FBI announcement that remains consistent with Gabby Petito’s description was found in Wyoming, the manhunt for her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, reached new heights.

North Port police continued to search the MabryCarlton Reserve for Laundrie on Saturday and Sunday. His family said they picked him up at the reserve earlier this week.

A manhunt for Brian Laundrie at Mabry Carlton Reserve began over the weekend

Speaking to the New York Post on Sunday, North Port Police spokesman Josh Taylor said that Laundrie, 23, told his family he was going for a hike.

Brian Laundrie hasn’t been seen since Tuesday.

Taylor reports that Taylor, the attorney representing the Laundrie family, called FBI agents on Friday evening, September 17, in order to report his disappearance.

A manhunt has been launched for Laundrie since his family reported him missing.

The focus has been the “vast” Carlton Reserve, which stretches over 25,000 acres in Sarasota County.

Taylor said that police worry Laundrie may have hurt himself while in the reserve, characterizing it as “a possibility, certainly.”

“Does anyone not think it’s possible he went out there and shot himself in the head? Sure,” Tayor said, adding, “We don’t have any information about where he’s at.”

The Laundrie family released a brief statement on Sunday evening after the FBI announced human remains found in Grand Teton National Park are believed to be Gabby Petito.

“The news about Gabby Petito is heartbreaking,” the statement reads.

The brief statement also said that “The Laundrie family prays for Gabby and her family.”

Authorities reportedly obtained cell phone tracking data for both Petito’s and Laundrie’s devices, but still need search warrants to gain “complete access” to the devices.

Laundrie is described to be a 5-foot-8, white male with brown hair and eyes. Last seen, Laundrie was wearing a waist-strap hiking bag.

According to police, Laundrie was free to go as he wasn’t a suspect and had not been charged or tracked his movements.

The FBI is still looking into Gabby Petito’s disappearance and welcomes information from the general public.

Laundrie is described as a 5’8 white male with brown eyes and brown hair and was last seen wearing a hiking bag with a waist strap

“We continue to seek information from anyone who utilized the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area between the dates of August 27-30, 2021 and who may have had contact with Gabby or her boyfriend, or who may have seen their vehicle,” said the agency in a statement.

  • That grown man shouldn't be reported as missing person he has stolen his fiance van he murdered her those two are different charger which is theft grand auto and murder oh he ran? He's a fugitive! His parents needa be charge for holding and lying for one......

  • Agree that he is now a fugitive. What about when he got hitchhiking and the couple pick him up and mention of where they r going to stop at the area and he freak out, then he got out of the car. So don't u think he had anything to do with her missing. I would say yes and sure. He shouldn't be let go in the first place. Now he is hiding or on the run.

  • He's a fugitive his story's not adding up he was hitchhiking and told the couple his girlfriend was back at the van updating they social media why you not with her then you drove her van back home without her didn't call the cops and report her missing or nothing who does that? Now you running from the police guilt trip should be sinking in his parents they lying he came home with her van but they say they haven't seen him since he left nice try they should get charged for harboring a fugitive

  • The moment he left the women he wanted to marry, alone so far from home , remind u after being seen slapping her, he made it home when Sept 10th? If he killed her on the 27-30th how could he sleep at night or even make that drive home in the vehicle that's in her name?? He knows what he did and he sent that text to her parents that's why he would not respond to the cops or Gabbys parents , and his parents should be so ashamed they knew what he did that's why they got his killer ass a lawyer!!! Its sad he basically planed this and for his parents to protect him is even more sicker!! He had what 2 weeks to plan what to do, he ran scared when he knew the FBI was involved and his parents help!!! Poor Gabby I feel sorry for her family!! I damn sure dnt feel sorry for Brian's whom helped a fugitive cover up murder! They knew how sick their son was so into murders, he planed this trip for pleasure to accomplish what the serial.killer did in the book he read!! If only the police could have protected her!! So he got away with domestic violence toward her and just told stay away from each other tonight so poor Gabby from so far away where did she stay since he had her van and as she was gone he plotted what he was going to do next!!! People r telling u he hitched hiked a ride from them, the van has been seen not with Noone around for several days , but Remer he's not a suspect but. A person of interest!! NOW EVEN AGTER THE BEAUTIFUL GABBYS REMAINS HAVE BEEN FOUND WHAT LIKE 21 DAYS LATER HE STILL JUST A PERSON OF INTEREST!! SICKINGS ME TO MY CORE!! THE PARENTS NEED TO PAY FOR THIS AS WELL AS HE SOULD! NOW EVERYONES WORRIED ABOUT HIS WELL BEING, HE DESERVES WHAT HE GETS!!!!! MAY GOD BE WITH GABBYS FAMILY AND FRIENDS! 🙏🙏🙏

    • Ok so you think it's ok for a woman to hit a man. I don't think so. And you've already thrown out the possibility of self defence ??

      • She was 110 lbs soaking wet. Even if she lost it on him, even if she had a weapon, he could have disarmed her and subdued her easily. If he killed her, even in self defense, he is in trouble because he didn't HAVE to. Also, if it was self defense, why not call the police? He had the domestic violence video to back him up. The way he is acting is the way someone would act if they were guilty. I feel like it was more of an accident, maybe happen during an altercation, and he freaked out. Do I think he intentionally tried to kill her? I don't think so oh, but I am not the coroner and I don't know what kind of injuries she sustained.

  • Calm down. Justice will prevail, whether it is on this side, or the other. There WILL be justice for Gabby.

  • I think he is suspect, why would he come home without her and then leave on a hiking trip. I think him doing that means he guilty. I hope they find him alive so he can pay the price for what he has done

  • His family knows exactly where he is. He is not missing that poor beautiful Gabby she was missing not him.And he should've been in custody while they searched for Gabby, now he's in hiding being a coward. He may even take the easy coward way out and hurt himself the sad thing about that is it wouldn't be a tragedy, only for his family and for him to put his family through all of this is sickening and worse putting Gabby's family through this may she rip 🙏 we will continue to 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 for Gabby's family ❤❤

  • What kind of creep leaves his fiance on in the wilderness and drives hundreds of miles away, with no concern for her well- being? Then he refused to help others find her, before she would die. Unless he knew she was dead....
