The NY Knicks really couldn’t have had a better offseason than the one that just completed this summer.

You could argue that there were perhaps some names they should have pushed a little harder for, but all in all, there’s not a whole lot the front office got wrong.

And their efforts are being noticed, even if in a back-handed manner as I recently found an article on Bleacher Report about 1 question still haunting each team in the NBA and as far as the Knicks were concerned, the only real issue the author of the B/R article had with the Knicks was why they didn’t do what they’ve done over the past year a lot sooner.

Goes to show how quickly a narrative can change these days because prior to Leon Rose taking over, all we heard for years was how terrible every move the Knicks have made was and how dysfunctional the organization has been.

One trade the NY Knicks should have made and one they shouldn’t have

That said, there were two decisions made this offseason that still have me a bit puzzled.

And as happy as I am with how the offseason has turned out, I reserve the ability to still question a trade that was made as well as a trade that should have been considered but wasn’t.

Only time will tell if I’m right or wrong in my assessments.

But again, and I cannot stress this enough…the moves between the draft-night trades, to the players they ended up selecting in the draft, to all the free agency acquisitions…all tremendous moves.

Re-signing Julius Randle now as opposed to waiting until the end of this year was a great move for both Randle and the Knicks in my opinion.

Showing allegiance to the guy who brought the team to the playoffs showed that this front office rewards hard work and focuses on guys who want to play here.

But I digress.

Here we’ll take a look at a trade I believe the Knicks should have involved themselves in and then a trade that was made that I have my doubts about.
