Falcons WR Russell Gage questionable to return against Buccaneers

The Falcons have potentially lost their WR2 for the rest of the game.

We knew it would be a tough game, and it currently is not looking great for the Atlanta Falcons. Down by double digits at halftime, the Falcons need all the help they can get, and after being very healthy throughout the week, they were dealt their first significant injury on Sunday.

With a few minutes remaining in the first half, wide receiver Russell Gage appeared to be limping, and despite returning to the game, he eventually headed for the locker room with a team trainer.

After being shutout against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1, Gage had two catches for 10 yards in the first half against the Buccaneers. As mentioned above, the Falcons passing attack needs all the help they can get against a Bucs’ beat up secondary, so potentially losing Gage for the rest of the game is certainly not ideal. We’ll see if he returns, but ankle injuries are tough to bounce back from.

We’ll continue to monitor Gage’s game status until an announcement is made.

Update: Gage returned to the lineup at the start of the 2nd half.
