Marcus parks is a 12-year-old middle school student born with the mildest form of cerebral palsy.
But, thanks to a family friend, Parks developed a love for hand cycling.
Jackie Jones is a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America Race Team. He joined shortly after suffering a spinal stroke in 2019 that left him paralyzed from the waist down.
Jones and Parks meet every week at an elementary school in Walkertown to work on park’s dream.
“It is my dream to make it to the Paralympics. Because when I get older, I want to meet Usain Bolt,” said Parks.
“So far he is making good progress, he wants to get stronger, and I am going to help him get stronger,” said Jones.
