Did the Yankees fire Aaron Boone yet?
The New York Yankees are desperately grasping on to the hopes of making it to the Wild Card round and manager Aaron Boone is in danger of losing his job.
The New York Yankees had high expectations entering the 2021 MLB season and are now clinging to the hope of making it to the playoffs. It’s been a season full of twists and turns for the Yankees, but with October creeping closer their season is in shambles. And somehow, manager Aaron Boone still has his job — for now.
After playing for 12 years, Boone was an analyst on Sunday Night Baseball and Baseball Tonight from 2010-2017. On Dec. 4, 2017 he agreed to become New York’s manager after he signed a three-year deal. It’s one of the toughest positions to hold in baseball and after making the playoffs his first three seasons, it appears as if 2021 will mark the end of the Boone era in the Bronx.

On Sunday afternoon, the Yankees fell to the Cleveland Indians, 11-1. With 12 games remaining in the regular season, New York now 1.5 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the second AL wild card and 2.5 games behind wild card leader and rival Boston Red Sox.
With names such as Aaron Judge, Gerrit Cole and Giancarlo Stanton on the roster, the talent is there when New York is healthy. The Yankees have been on the quest for No. 28, but they can’t quite make it there. Many are pointing fingers at Boone and are questioning why he’s still with the team.
Unless the Yankees make a spectacular run, Boone is likely to be fired in the offseason. It doesn’t appear as if it’ll happen during the season, but Boone has to be feeling the pressure.
