Akiavel Drop New Video for “Lady of Death”

0

Akiavel continue their hot streak of riveting videos from their recently-released album, Vae Victis, unveiling a clip for the album track “Lady of Death” via Decibel.

For those unaware of what these French upstarts are doing, think the best of Carcass, Arch Enemy and old In Flames but with bigger choruses. Aesthetically, frontwoman Aure channels some big time Dani Filth vibes but without the cringe elements.

Aure comments of the band’s latest video, which once again finds them diving into a noted serial killer’s psyche:

“’Lady of Death’ is a song about [serial killer] Aileen Wuornos. I absolutely wanted to put her on our album because I find her fascinating. I have studied her story a lot, I have a lot of compassion for her despite the fact that she has murdered people. That’s why the text isn’t very violent or bloody, it’s more based on how she feels. She had a lot of suffering in her.

“For the video clip we got closer to her psychological state. That’s why we chose the actress who clearly embodied her conscience and the struggle within her.”
