Former Alabama All-American scores his first NFL TD

Running back Najee Harris scored 57 touchdowns at Alabama, tied with Florida quarterback Tim Tebow for the most in SEC history.

Now Harris has one in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Harris caught a short pass from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on third-and-10 and turned it into a 25-yard touchdown play against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

Harris’ first NFL touchdown came with 11:15 left to play and allowed Pittsburgh to trim Las Vegas’ lead to 16-14.

The Raiders went on to a 26-17 victory, with a 61-yard touchdown catch by a former Alabama teammate of Harris’, wide receiver Henry Ruggs III, helping Las Vegas hold on to its lead.

Harris finished the game with 38 yards on 10 rushing attempts and five receptions for 43 yards and one touchdown.

STEELERS’ NAJEE HARRIS SHOWS OFF HIS STIFF ARM

Harris joined the Steelers as the first running back chosen in the 2021 NFL Draft at No. 24.

In addition to his SEC career TD record, Harris became the leading rusher in Alabama history at 3,843 yards, with 1,466 coming during the 2020 season, when Harris helped Alabama compile an unbeaten season and win the CFP national championship.

Harris earned unanimous All-American recognition and won the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s best running back in 2020.
