2AM Comeback Update: Boy Group Reportedly Completed Jacket Filming for their Full Album

On Sept. 16, a Korean media outlet gave an update on the preparation of the Korean ballad group 2AM for their long-awaited comeback.

In May of this year, 2AM Jo Kwon's agency CUBE Entertainment told a news outlet that the members of the boy group are positively considering a reunion.

2AM has been inactive in the music industry since 2015 when the members left JYP Entertainment and Big Hit Entertainment after the expiration of their exclusive contracts. The members then enlisted in the military one after another.

2AM Reportedly Finished Jacket Filming + to Release a Full Album

According to YTN, 2AM finished shooting the jacket for their new release at the end of August. The report added that the filming is for the group's full album.

The media outlet went on to say that 2AM started preparing for their comeback right away, which will be their reunion in seven years.

YTN also stated that the specific date for the release of 2AM's full album is still under discussion.

But, according to 2AM member Jinwoon in an interview, they plan to return this fall season.

2AM's full album will be their first group release in seven years since their 2014 album "Let's Talk."

While 2AM was inactive as a group, the members were busy in their respective fields.

In particular, Jinwoon made his first screen debut after being discharged from the military through the movie "I Can Only See," which premiered in July of this year.

2AM Jinwoon will appear in the action movie "Brother," which is set for release in October of this year.

While Jo Kwon played a role in the musical "Jamie," Seulong recently made a special appearance on the SBS drama "Penthouse." Finally, Lee Changmin recently released an original soundtrack for the KBS drama "Revolutionary Sisters."

How Did 2AM's Hiatus Start?

In March 2015, two 2AM members (Jinwoon and Seulong) decided not to renew their contracts with JYP Entertainment and sign with different agencies.

In August 2015, 2AM Changmin's contract with JYPE also came to an end. Despite this, the company assured that the departures of the members don't mean 2AM has disbanded.

In September 2017, Jo Kwon became the fourth 2AM member to leave JYP Entertainment, but will not leave his ballad group.

In November 2017, 2AM Seulong became the first member to begin his mandatory military service. The next member to enlist is Jo Kwon in August 2018.

In January 2019, Jinwoon became the last 2AM member to enlist in the military, due to Changmin completing his military service in 2008, before he debuted in the group.

After their military discharge, the members were active as either a singer or actor under their respective agencies. Jo Kwon is under CUBE Entertainment, while Seulong is under Sidus HQ and Jinwoon signed with Mystic Story, a subsidiary of SM Entertainment.

2AM Changmin, on the other hand, is under his self-established label, The Bsky.
