WILBRAHAM, Mass. -- The Minnechaug boys soccer team scored on a corner kick in the 79th minute to hand Pittsfield a heart-breaking 1-0 loss on Saturday.

One of the Generals' best chances came in the first half, when sophomore Danny Kankham hit the post. Kankham was a threat all day to the Minnechaug defense, Pittsfield coach Neill Brandon said.

"Junior goalkeeper Will Kinne anchored the Generals' defense with 12 saves in his first match back after an ankle injury forced him to miss two games," Brandon said.

Pittsfield (1-3-1) hosts Mount Greylock in a Churchill League match on Monday evening at BCC.
