Watch: Steelers rookie RB Najee Harris sheds Raiders safety Johnathan Abram with stiff arm
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris may be a rookie, but he already has one of the highlights of the season.
During the first quarter of Pittsburgh's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Harris caught a swing pass from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the right flat and immediately had to figure out what to do with Raiders safety Johnathan Abram. Harris charged downfield, and when Abram engaged him, Harris threw him off with a stiff arm, allowing him to gain a few more yards.
The play went down as a 9-yard gain in the stat sheet, and immediately, the move went viral on social media.
At half time, the Raiders held a 9-7 lead and Harris had totaled 39 yards from scrimmage on eight touches.
Harris, 23, was selected with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft out of Alabama. In his NFL debut last week, a 23-16 victory against the Buffalo Bills, Harris ran the ball 16 times for 45 yards and added one catch on three targets for four yards.
